I Wonder Why

Life,life,
What can it mean?
Molecules of fun,
And the trees turning green.

Throw caution to the wind,
Because the firecracker cracks,
Resistance is futile,
So scramble from the attack.

I'm rallying for position,
In the big, blue global race,
It's bigger than myself,
So I might try outer space.

Faces in cars,
As I drive on by,
But no one is ever smiling,
And I stop to wonder why.

The bounty I seek,
For me contains no treasure,
Because the love of a friend,
Is much better to remember.

The water wheel quickly turns,
With an energetic circular path,
It reminds me of a journey,
That was started in the past.
