The Band   Bytes

That stupid key!
Won't open the door for me,
It protects my stuff,
Not usually an enemy.
And the skeleton key,
There are no bones about it,
It's a dead issue,
But you can open your closet.
It's not a musical key,
It can't create a tune,
It can't keep you out,
If you arrive home soon.
And the latch key kid,
The key is his friend,
It lets him have access,
It lets him come in.
Can you look through the keyhole?
To look closer inside?
Are you locked out?
Or is everything just fine?
Notches and grooves,
And a mechanism,
Make it work,
With functionalism.
