Right from the start.
Scroll work,
Delicate bibles to function,
Then movable type,
The plan was copious reproduction.
650 year Chinese secret,
Of paper making,
Totally unchanged,
For many, many centuries.
It's a long standing parchment,
Skin of sheep, goat, or vellum,
Dressed or prepared,
In order to write on.
